Policy

Editorial Standards

The rules our newsroom holds itself to. We publish them so readers can hold us to them, too.

Accuracy

We verify claims before publication. Numerical data is sourced from primary filings (SEC EDGAR, FRED, exchange data) wherever possible. Quotations are checked against the original transcript or recording.

Sourcing

We prefer on-the-record sources. Anonymous sources are used only when the information is material and unavailable otherwise; their reliability is assessed by at least one editor.

AI assistance and disclosure

Some IMF Alpha articles are drafted with the help of large language models. Every such draft is reviewed and edited by a human journalist before publication. Articles substantially produced with AI assistance are labeled in the byline area.

Conflicts of interest

Editorial staff disclose holdings in any covered security and recuse themselves from coverage where a material conflict exists. The newsroom does not accept gifts, paid trips, or speaking fees from companies it covers.

Advertising separation

Sponsored content, when present, is clearly labeled. No advertiser receives advance review of editorial coverage or any veto over what we publish.

Corrections

We correct errors as soon as we are aware of them. Material corrections are noted at the bottom of the affected article with the date and nature of the change. To request a correction, write to our editors.

Right of reply

Individuals or companies named in critical reporting are contacted for comment before publication and given a reasonable opportunity to respond.
